How to Become a Neurodiagnostic Technologist

Becoming a neurodiagnostic technologist can be an exciting and rewarding career path! Here are some steps you can take.

How to Become a Neurodiagnostic Technologist: 5 Steps

1. Make sure you have your high school diploma or equivalent.

2. Look for a neurodiagnostic technologist program accredited by CAAHEP or CoANDT. These programs typically take one to two years to complete and can result in an associate’s degree or a certificate.

3. During your program, you’ll gain clinical experience in a hospital or clinic setting. This is a great opportunity to learn hands-on skills and work with patients under the guidance of experienced professionals.

4. Once you’ve completed your program, you must pass one or more certification exams to become a registered neurodiagnostic technologist. The most common exam is the R.E.E.G.T. exam offered by ABRET, but there are other options.

5. After becoming certified, it’s important to keep up with new developments in the field through continuing education and staying current on new neurodiagnostic technology.

Becoming a neurodiagnostic technologist takes some effort, but it’s worth it! Good luck with your studies and future career!
